    Prof Gericke was part of the international working group that developed a new set of evidence-based and patient-centred outcome measures for children and adults with epilepsy.

    Improving access to antiseizure medications for Australians

    Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) restrictions on antiseizure drugs are unsafe and outdated. Together with colleagues from the Epilepsy Society of Australia, Prof Gericke led a successful national campaign that led the PBS to allow the prescription of Levetiracetam and Lamotrigine as first-line medications for women of childbearing age.

    Prof Gericke led a team of researchers from the University of Queensland and Monash University who compared access to deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson’s disease in Australia, New Zealand, and other developed countries.
